Only the finest French oak

In a market full of mass production and questionable quality, our timber is forced to wait until it matures. Using genuine French oak sustainably harvested, each board spends its entire life developing its unique character. Come be part of its history.

Like the French, our timber has character

We source a select amount of timber through reputable sawmills who purchase from CE certified, sustainable French forests. Some of our boards wait years to mature, and some wait decades in another home — which is why our bespoke flooring boards are highly sought after.

The Plant People

Phil & Susanna

We are so impressed with the service, price & product knowledge that Alan provided us for our project……not to mention the fabulous back story on the beautiful sustainable French Oak! From a French mill to our project in Christchurch, amazing! He even honoured his original quote despite his rising shipping costs. Thank you so much.

Epsom, Auckland

Robert and Kerry Famularo

We had Foret supply and install a solid French oak timber floor in our Auckland penthouse apartment in early 2022. Sound mitigation requirements meant the laying of an acoustic underlay between the concrete slab and timber floor which added a degree of complexity to the entire installation process. Alan and his installers managed the whole process brilliantly and their ability to provide a custom colour match has left us with a finished product that we are truly thrilled with. The richness and quality of the actual French oak timber has really lifted the sense of luxury in our main living areas.

Takamatua Christchurch 2022

Lance & Kim

We were very fortunate to have an Interior designer who seeks out the best possible people to provide quality materials and exceptional service and Alan from Foret is one of these people. He sourced some gorgeous French oak beams and flooring for our home in Takamatua and we couldn’t be more thrilled with them. They look amazing and truly make our home look and feel like we have been transported into France ! His pride and passion for his products really does shine through, as does his professionalism , helpfulness and expertise. We have had many people through our home and the beams are what people comment on and love the most ! Thank you Alan for not only making our home special but giving it a truly unique look that also comes with some history as well.

Committed to sustainability

Our timber is our history.

Sourced from reputable suppliers who carefully regrow what they cut, there’s a limit to the amount of French oak we can supply. And that will never change. We're also committed to recycling our solid French oak flooring offcuts, using this timber in the manufacturing of our parquet furniture. That's because we don't believe in wasting a commodity so precious.

Acquired under the European Union and PEFC guidelines, all our products are CE certified, E1 emission class, and DDT treated to prevent woodworm infections.
